dirty-ice-cream trollies

Some of the things that fascinated me in the Philippines besides the people is the Art and graphic design on Jeepneys  and the "Dirty Ice cream" trolleys, if given time and chance i would love to interview the people who decorated or hand-painted the ice cream trollies. Philippino graphic design or could be public art on the street and its wooden trollies, all hand-made.

Have you ever wonder why Egyptians Hieroglyphics are mostly 2 dimensional?
I wonder if artisan of that time haven't thought of bird's eye view, worm's eye view or other dynamic perspective before?

Or maybe they have to comply with some strict rules of their own creative standard, fascist-like creative director who's enforcing 2 Dimensional as an effective way of story telling?

There was once when we went for a get away in Port Dickson, an incident took place when a couple of teenage boys and girls were mocking us and our friend Alice release her mutant power,verbal thunder-clap and burn them to crisps, after that it was all golden and silence, only our sweet laughter and giggles not far from the swimming pool

i thought i need to design the flyer if i were given the opportunity, this unused visual was done in 2010 later, i love this band, the lyrics are brilliant, cheeky, crass and upfront. So many lines from the lyrics i wanted to say openly in this country but couldn't, they came here once in KL and it was a hair-raising gig for a fan like me, despite the sensitive mat rempits who champion arab culture made a bad impression of us the fans here, nevertheless i was bummed there was no Nofx Malaysian version of the tour tshirts eventhough there was Philippines and Singapore's version. Just realized i should come up with my own version...maybe later when i have the time

Kiah Kongo?

Kiah Kongo is a transwoman from the community, she's a taylor and no stranger to the community, one day a friend of mine mention that she's already custom-made her dress with her but she was gone missing and couldn't be found anywhere, as soon as i heard her ramblings i took the pencil and scribble what i thought should be a stencils that i could spray in ChowKit where the trans community are...but it remainds in 2D visuals on an A4 paper...

i've been drawing a lot of unicorns in the Philippines lately, probably because i've been missing the fun in Kuala Lumpur like the Rainbow Rojak event, its also like an escape while im here, besides soul-searching i think my mind wander further away and lotsuv unicorn drawings came out subconsciously and some were inked for friends back in KL used as avatars

...and its on going, things doesn't look too bright but we're still hopeful

change is good

and needed urgently, most violence towards transwomen can be put the blame on the government who publish non-stop negative, transphobic news every day,weeks,month besides the man-made syariah law who were used by the religious officers to commit violence and unlawful detention to transwomen in this country and also the death of late Aleesha Farhana.
